The EML Show

The EML Show

The first time I ever heard of NUS EML was during Student Life Fair 2016. Prior to knowing what NUS EML was, i already developed an interest in music production and sought for a cca/club which catered to my interest field. The fact that I had super minimal knowledge in musical theory did not stop me from attending the introductory workshops and weekly lessons. No doubt, the initial journey was filled with hardships, having to understand the aspect of musical theory and learning how to navigate through the music software was definitely challenging as it took a lot of self-drive and initiative to better your own skills (either through self-exploration and messing around with the software or spending countless of hours watching video tutorials on Youtube). Nevertheless, I did not stop at it. I knew that if I were to just stuck at it, the many hours spent on making music would eventually payoff. The constant listening to songs of professional artistes i look up to and aspire to be someday, along with the seniors and other fellow members dedication to their individual productions gave me added motivation to overcome my own hardships. Today, I'm able to say that I would have never been able to create the tracks that i have today if I had given up when times get difficult, and that the journey of self-discovery and learning from friends will make the entire experience well worth it!
